Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

This ride sets off from the beginning of Loxley Road and climbs steadily up past the Admiral Rodney to Damflask and left to Low Bradfield. We then climb up Blindside Lane and Sugworth Road and take a left on Mortimer Road. After dropping down the A57 to Ladybower, we turn left past the Yorkshire Bridge and right onto a lovely little lane up to Thornhill. We then descend back down to Hope Road where turn right. When we reach the traffic lights we turn left and continue through Bradwell and up a couple more hills until we take a left turn onto a lane through Grindlow and Foolow and eventually to Eyam, where we'll stop for refreshments. We then head via a closed road (open to cyclists) to Grindleford and tackle the long steady climb of Nether Padley that takes us up to Fox House and onto the A625 for a couple of kilometres (mostly downhill) before we turn left onto Sheephill Road. When we reach the Norfolk Arms we turn left and immediately right and continue to Lodge Moor before dropping down the (very) steep descent of Lodge Lane to Rivelin Valley Road. A left turn then takes us via quiet lanes to Stannington Road, where we drop back down to the start point.
There are some moderately challenging hills and a couple of long climbs on this ride, but as always, we'll take our time and there is no pressure to go faster than you want to. We never leave anyone behind! Don't forget to bring food and plenty of water (especially now the weather is warming up).

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
Please do not attend if you have COVID symptoms (new, persistent cough; fever; loss of sense of smell or taste) or if any of your household has symptoms or is isolating. Maintain social distance throughout the ride, including at the start/finish and the café stop. Bring a facemask for use at the café stop.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
