Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

This ride takes us from Malin Bridge via Low Bradfield and up the steady climb of Blindside Lane to Mortimer Road. From there we'll drop down the A57 to Ladybower, turn left and pass the Yorkshire Bridge. We then take a right onto a pretty winding lane that takes us through Thornhill before we turn right and head to Hope. At Hope we turn right and continue to Edale where there is the option of a cafe stop. Those that want to can ride up the long, steep climb up Mam Nick and will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful views to be found anywhere in the Peak District (and possibly one of the UK's best). We'll then drop back down the way we came to rejoin anyone who is waiting at the cafe. After refreshments, we'll return to Hope. If everyone wants to do the Mam Nick climb there is also the option to skip the cafe stop in Edale, complete the climb, descend via Winnats Pass and have a cafe stop in Hope. From Hope we'll continue to Hathersage, climb up to Ringinglow and on to Lodge Moor before dropping down Lodge Lane and returning to Rivelin Valley and back to the start. Although this route has some very substantial undulations, we'll take our time and stop for breathers if needed. No-one ever gets left behind!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
