Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

This ride sets off from the usual spot at the start of Loxley Road and heads out through Low Bradfield and up Dale Road to Mortimer Road. For this first part of the ride we will join Alison's group to explore the history of the Bradfield flood. After that we will turn left onto Mortimer Road and head past the Strines Inn. Where we go from there will depend on the preferences of the group (options include a relatively short ride back to the start via Ughill or heading down to Ladybower for a longer ride). As always, we'll ride at a pace everyone is comfortable with, stop and regroup as necessary, and promise never to leave anyone behind.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
Please do not attend if you have COVID symptoms (new, persistent cough; fever; loss of sense of smell or taste) or if any of your household has symptoms or is isolating. Maintain social distance throughout the ride, including at the start/finish and the café stop. Bring a facemask for use at the café stop.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
