A lovely circular ride out from Cassiobury Park along some of the prettiest country lanes on the verge of the Chilterns. Within just a couple of miles you will be in beautiful countryside taking in views of local villages. This 26 mile route is mainly on roads so road bikes are recommended. Perfect for a challenge and a blast of fresh air! Oh & there's the 'Ley Hill Big Dipper': a 13% descent followed immediately by a climb of similar gradient! :) This is a Challenging Category Route - there's rolling hills & we will pace it to average 11-12 mph over the route.
If you're driving across to then ride, Cassiobury Park has a free car park off Gade Avenue, at WD18 7LB. The car park is free, but you must take a ticket from the machine and display. You can then ride up to the start of the ride at The Cha Cafe.
Please bring two spare inner tubes as this makes it easier to fix punctures if they happen, rather than getting out the rubber glue. If you don't have a spare inner tubes, Watford Cycle Hub sell them for £4 brand new, or second hand ones for £1 (no patches) & 50p (patched).
Please make sure your bike is in good working order before the ride.
If your bike might need a little TLC or hasn't been ridden for a while, you can always bring it in for a free assessment; we're Not-For-Profit and promise to give you an honest assessment and price if your bike needs fixing, fine tuning or a full service...
