Watford Cycle Hub: The Secret Garden

A gentle ride using cycle paths & quiet roads on the Cassiobury Estate & through Nascot Wood to the Secret Garden. This is a brilliant ride for anyone looking to:

- gain confidence riding their bike on mainly quiet roads,
- learn about some of the local cycle routes,
& find a lovely little-known place to retreat too - one of Watford's hidden gems that you'll want to return too. :)

We will stop at Cheslyn Gardens for you to enjoy the surroundings of the garden before heading back to Cassiobury Park. Having a drink, a chat is a cornerstone of our social rides, we can stop at the Rhubarb Café on the way back or go to the Cha when we return to the park.

New riders are always welcome and for this route, children aged 8 and over are warmly welcome too - provided a caring, supportive adult is riding alongside them. :)

Please bring a spare inner tube in case of a puncture - as changing an inner tube is faster than getting out the rubber glue. The Ride Leaders will happily help if anyone in the group has a puncture on the day. Watford Cycle Hub sell inner tubes from £4 new, or recycled ones for 50p patched, £1 with no patches, should you need to purchase one.

Please check your bike is in good working order before the ride - especially that your brakes are working & your tyres are pumped.

If your bike might need a little more TLC or hasn't been ridden for a while, you can always bring it in for a free assessment; we're a Not-For-Profit, Community Enterprise and promise to give you an honest price if your bike needs fixing, fine tuning or a full service. :)
