Starting point

Cheshire
WA4 4QX

Come and join us for a ride around the leafy lanes of Cheshire. Starting from the car park of the Thorn pub in Appleton, the route will take us along quiet country lanes and cycle path to the impressive grounds of Tatton Park. We will ride through the deer park and stop at the cafe in the old stable courtyard. The route then continues out of the northern exit of the Park and along similarly quiet roads through Rostherne and High Legh back to the start point, with the opportunity for further post-ride refreshment and debrief in the pub for those who wish.
The route is mainly flat though there are a couple of short hills. It is predominantly on quiet roads and cycle path although there are a couple of short sections on the A50 main road. All junctions will be controlled by the Ride Leaders to ensure everyone in the group is safe. It is suitable for all riders of any age who are reasonably confident riding on quiet roads and the pace will be adjusted to suit all members of the group. All bike types are welcome but the route is on paved roads throughout and wide, “knobbly” mountain bike tyres will make it harder work.
You should bring clothing appropriate for the weather, a drink, snack and a spare inner tube to fit your bike. You might also want some money for the mid- and post- ride refreshments.
