After rolling down the Trail to Salterhebble Locks, we will take the towpath to Copley Village. At Copley, we'll turn round before following our route back to Halifax for cuppa! The route is mainly downhill and flat but there is a steady climb back up to Halifax. It's nothing to worry about and a good introduction to hills for young legs or out of condition legs.

Setting off from Halifax Town centre, I will show you the quieter roads that lead to two fabulous traffic-free routes in Calderdale - the Hebble Trail and the Calder Valley Greenway.

Mainly traffic free, however we will need to navigate some roads to get to the start of the Hebble Trail.

We will stop when we need to but the only hill of note is on the return leg, up the Hebble Trail. We will take this in sections and rest when we run out of puff.

Please bring a roadworthy bike, helmet, gloves, a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, money for refreshments at the end and basic repair kit in case of puncture.

We especially welcome newbies!
