This ride is suitable for experienced cyclists only, as you will need to be comfortable cycling approximately 60 miles at a steady pace of 10-12mph. Starting from All Saints in Central Manchester, this challenging but enjoyable ride takes us on a whistle stop tour of the ten 10 Greater Manchester towns and cities.

The short video at https://www.relive.cc/view/2302184405 shows the route we will be following.

We'll have a quick pit stop at Ikea in Ashton and then a slightly longer break for lunch at the halfway point in Heaton Park. The second half of the ride will test endurance in that there is no formal break planned, but don't worry - we can stop at any point if we need to.

Much of the way will be fairly flat, but expect a few climbs to challenge the legs. The route is best suited to hybrid bikes due to the mixture of trails and roads that we will be following. Some of the roads will be busy so you will need to feel confident riding alongside traffic.

Please check that your bike is roadworthy before the ride, as you will be responsible for dealing with your own mechanical issues, should they arise on the day. There's a helpful video showing you how to check your bike at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qtx60bcNk0

It is recommended that you wear a helmet and suitable cycling clothing. Layers, including something waterproof, are best so that you can add/remove clothing during the ride, depending on the weather.

Whilst it's a good idea to travel light, there are a few essentials that you will need to bring:
- Spare inner tube(s) and a pump in case of a puncture
- Water and/or other hydration drinks
- Light snacks such as fruit, cereal bars, etc
- A packed lunch if required
- Cash/Card(s) to pay for drinks, snacks, lunch or in case of emergencies.

Finally, we will be setting off promptly at 9:00am so please aim to arrive at the start point 10-15 minutes early to ensure we don't leave without you.
