This Safety First Cycling Group ride is open for anyone to join

north over the Thames then down to the "clappers" past the lido under "huntley & palmers train tunnel to reach gas works lane following the Kennet up stream past the abbey then katesgrove/elgar Rd (to avoid narrow towpath and sharp turn by hartleys jam factory) then up Foundry brook into Green park then lanes to Three Mile X off road to Riseley (poss Stop) along the devil's highway then lanes to Eversley off road to just short of finish point

Following part of the King Alfred's Way south out of reading down to Riseley onto the Devil's highway then after the ford climb up past Farley Hill taking in some stunning scenery before reaching Eversley then cross country again to pick up the long river/blackwater and following this almost the whole way to Sandhurst where we catch a train back to reading

Much of the way is off road on towpaths, designated cyclepaths, bridlepaths and quiet lanes

poss stop along the way include Riseley and Sandhurst whilst awaiting train

Please bring puncture repair kit/spare tube drinks and snacks for on the bike. money to buy at the stops
