Starting point

Somerset
BS41 9LX

A relaxed friendly ride out from Long Ashton Park & Ride (by the Waiting Room) through Long Ashton, Flax Bourton along Festival Way to Backwell through Nailsea and a loop around the country lanes back to the start. The ride will be split into groups of 6 (5 riders to 1 ride leader) so that social distancing can be maintained while avoiding large groups that may annoy motorists. The rides are expected to go at an average pace of ~12 mph - although some groups may go slower and others faster, depending on the group's wishes. Whatever, no-one will be left behind or have to ride at a faster pace than they feel comfortable with.

If you enjoy getting out on your bike, taking in the countryside and fresh air in a relaxed social group, this is for you. The route heads off down Festival Way and then some quiet country lanes to Nailsea. There we loop back on ourselves towards Long Ashton. On the way back we will take in a cafe stop at Gatcombe Farm before a short ride back towards the Park and Ride.

Although the route is 17 miles it is almost entirely flat and on cycle paths and country lanes. We will go at steady, relaxed, inclusive pace that is comfortable for everyone.

Although the route is very safe, we would encourage you to wear a helmet and wear clothing suitable for the weather conditions. Other than that all you need is a roadworthy bike, some money for the cafe stop ... and a smile!

New riders are especially welcome and we never leave anyone behind!
