SW15 5JY

Starting in front of Colicci's cafe (Roehampton Gate) we will start with a flattish loop of approx 4 miles to make sure everyone is comfortable. We will then plot a route around the many different loop options in Richmond Park. There will be some progression each week regarding the introduction of inclines or riding in traffic but we will always start with the basic loop and beginners are welcome to join us for any ride. We will plan a coffee stop after ~ 60 minutes. Anyone wanting to ride further is welcome to join me for a further 60-90 minutes. MIN 4 MILES - MAX 20 MILES.

We will ride largely on the flatter sections of the car-free, off-road Tamsin Trail (mainly packed gravel but some packed dirt sections). As we gain confidence we will introduce some inclines and progress to riding with traffic.

There will plenty of time to chat en route and we will stop for coffee (and cake!) and photos.

WHAT DO YOU NEED: A bike in good working order - the Tamsin Trail is gravel so hydrid, cyclocross or mountain bikes (or tyres) are recommended. Make sure the tyres are pumped up and the brakes work. Suitable clothing for cycling and the weather - cycling specific clothing is NOT required but avoid anything loose or billowy that could get caught. A cycling helmet A spare inner tube is advisable in case of punctures Money for coffee and cake (optional)

This ride is perfect for anyone new to cycling or wanting to return after a break. We will decide the route on the day based on the experience of the riders and no-one will be left behind.
