Typical easy-paced Southwark Cyclists Healthy Ride. Aim is to get to Severndroog Castle on top of Shooters Hill. Outward route uses bus lanes on busy A202 and A2 to Deptford Bridge. Then off road and quiet roads to Eltham Well Hall via Lewisham and Kidbrooke Village. Coffee stop at Tudor Barn in Well Hall Pleasaunce (or alternative local cafe if Tudor Barn not reopened in time). Next a short ride to the southwest corner of Jack Wood and the steep (but short) path up to Severndroog Castle. Plenty of time to just walk up - really steep section only 300m long. Fast return route using initially busy Shooters Hill Road, then the underpass at the Sun in the Sands roundabout and quiet streets to Greenwich Park. Whiz down the hill in the park and more quiet streets to Quietway 1 at the Halfpenny Bridge. Finally Q1 to Surrey Canal Rd, Bridgehouse Meadows and quiet streets back to Peckham Square.
