Our series of “Sofa to 20 miles + in the Saddle” rides are aimed for beginners or ladies who have recently returned to cycling after a break. The rides will increase in length and difficulty, in line with the increase in confidence of the riders. Our first ride in the series will be a socially- distanced 10 mile ride, with a coffee break in the middle. Starting from Wellington Health and Fitness Club, we will cycle through Crowthorne, via quiet roads and cycleways, to Bucklers Forest (at the old TRL site) where we can have fun riding off-road in a traffic -free environment. We will then cycle via Honey Hill to the Grange Café at Holme Grange Craft Village, where there are toilets open and we can have a well-earned coffee break sitting in the courtyard before returning to Wellington. (Please bring a contactless card for drink payment, water to drink en route and a bike lock if you have one) We expect participants to take responsibility for ensuring they only attend if they feel well. In order to reduce mechanical problems along the way please check your bike is in good working order and conduct a pre ride safety check on your bike. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V66yzbrZxvY The wearing of a cycle helmet is compulsory. Please bring the usual kit in case of puncture which is inner tube, tyre levers and pump. To read British Cycling guidance about resuming cycling at this time, please see below - particularly Section 2. General Club and Group rides and activities. https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/zuvvi/media/The_Way_Forward_18-06-20_FINAL.pdf
