There are public toilets at Trent Lock and a couple of pubs for a cuppa. Our return journey will take us along Lock Lane heading towards Breaston where we shall pick up the route of the Derby Canal on Longmoor Lane. Route rating

5 stars (2) Reviews

Starting at Shipley Country Park's main car park, this ride is 95% off road, following the Nutbrook Trail, Erewash Canal and Derby Canal Tow Paths. As the Derby Canal is dis-used, there are sections were we have to ride on the road.

We shall be mostly be riding on tarmac and bridleway/towpaths.

The plan is to stop for a cuppa at Trent Lock. I shall inform you the evening before the ride which venue we shall stop at. If venues are restricted due to regional Covid Tiering rules, please be prepared for a picnic.

Please bring a helmet, spare inner tubes (its hedge cutting season), a mobile phone, suitable clothing for changeable weather conditions during the ride and a face mask. Please check your bike for mechanical issues prior to attending the ride.

We never leave anyone behind
