Starting from - Scotter Village Hall is on the High street, heading towards Scotton, just past the school and before the doctor's surgery. Pretty much on the edge of the village.
If approaching on the A159 from Messingham, turn left at the crossroads in the middle of the village (just past the bridge over the river and round the bend) and follow the road until, just past the school, you see the Village Hall on the left.
Obviously if you are approaching from Blyton direction it's a right turn!, DN21 3SA

Starting point

DN21 3SA

From the Village Hall we will head down into Scotter and across the main road by The Gamekeeper. We will turn off before Susworth on to the road through forest, then through Laughton and out towards Blyton (just a short stretch on the main road) where we will stop for refreshments.
Fully refuelled we will head out on the Kirton Road but turn off at the Northorpe turn and back through Scotton to Scotter.

This will be an easy going ride with the pace tailored to the group but aiming at 9 - 10 mph. If you want more of a challenge, there are other rides frequently cropping up around the area.
An easy going route, all on tarmac, 14 miles, suitable for beginners, anyone who needs a confidence boost or just fancies an easy morning trundle in good company with a sociable coffee stop half way.

The route is all on road so suitable for road bikes and hybrids, but as its not too far, mountain bikes will be fine as well. The route is fairly flat with just a couple of slight gradients but we always wait and regroup at the top. no one is left behind. Older children (under 16) are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult and you are confident they can do the mileage. Not recommended for under 12s.

We will stop at Blyton Ice Cream Parlour for about 30 minutes for a coffee, ice cream or whatever takes your fancy.

Helmets are advised and essential for under sixteens. Please bring a spare inner tube that fits your bike and a working pump but there will be help on hand if necessary. Oh, and some cash for the coffee stop. Please arrive at 9:45 for introductions, briefing and a quick bike check to enable a prompt start at 10:00

First-timers welcome!
