Starting from - Meet in the car park of Eastern Leisure Centre, Llanrumney CF3 4DN. Toilets available. We'll leave at 10.00, so please be ready 5-10 minutes before for ride briefing and to do our bike checks. CF3 4DN

The route leaves Llanrumney, cycling down and cutting through on quiet roads to Marshfield, where we will continue on route 88 traffic free cycle path passing picturesque marshlands on the way. There is then another stretch on quiet roads and shared cycle paths before we arrive at Newport Riverfront for a coffee stop. We'll retrace our route back, ending with the relatively short but steep hill back up to Llanrumney. Total climb 635 feet. See the approximate route here

A mixed route of suburban and country cycling, passing alongside rivers marshland and reens

We will be riding on a mixture of quiet suburban roads, country lanes, a short stretch on grit/gravel path along the reen, and on shared cycle paths in Newport.

We will have a cafe stop on the Newport Riverfront

Please bring a bike lock and also a spare inner tube if you have one, and your cycle helmet. Also some money for the cafe stop. It can be breezy even on a fine day, so you may wish to bring an extra layers.
