Another short-notice ride! Perfect ride if you’re looking to: • Improve confidence on roads with fast traffic • Ride on roads that have a cycle-path along-side in case it all gets a bit too challenging • Get into multi-sport events, like Duathlon or Triathlon • See what goes on a Park Run, but don’t want to run one • Run a Park Run with others cheering your efforts at the finish • Be prepared to cheer others on • Ride about 11-12mph for about 35-40mins (same for return) • Ride on a smooth surface
A mix of traffic free path by the tram-way, country roads with cycle-path if you want it, and some local roads – not too busy at this early hour. A road bike is best, but a hybrid is fine.
We’ll set off at 8 prompt so that we can get to Rushcliffe Park Run in time for a loo break, make our way to the start and dump gear in the big communal pile. Then you can either do your Park Run (remember your bar-code!) or just watch and cheer. You don’t even have to ride back with us – but let me know if that’s your plan. We might go for a cuppa after, but we don’t hang about too much. There is no pressure to finish the run in a particular time. I usually manage about a 10min mile pace, but not always! You can wait for me, or we’ll wait for you to finish. If you’ve never done a Park Run and want to have your time registered, you must register and print a barcode. But you can run without registering, no problem. Don’t run if you are not medically fit to run! You must ride with a helmet. In dull weather and early mornings I also recommend lights. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28938707 http://www.parkrun.org.uk/rushcliffe/
