Starting from the Beefeater at Morton Park in Darlington, this ride takes us east into the village of Middleton St. George, through Neasham and into Hurworth with a stopover at The Tawny Owl pub. The return route brings us back via Firthmoor on our way back to the Beefeater.
Our Summer Series rides are designed to be nice, easy rides for the warmer evenings. They’re much shorter than Sunday rides and will visit local pubs on route. Ideal starter rides or if you just want a lazy ride out after work to make the most of the longer days.
This ride is classed as a STEADY ride which is around 10 miles in total. The ride is reasonably flat, with one steep downhill. The ride is all on the road or cycleways – all bike types are suitable. It is suitable for riders who are comfortable sustaining around 10mph avg. and can continually cycle for around 30 mins each way. The stopover is usually around 1 hour. Bear in mind these times are a guide and the ride can take longer.
