Starting from - Start point is at the Kite surf cafe car park, to the east side of the travelodge on east parade Rhyl, this is a quieter car park than the pavillion or sun verge car parks, but easily accessible from both as they sit either side of this one should you find yourself in a different car park. The route will proceed west along the cycle path, taking in views of the Pont Y Ddraig (The Dragon's Bridge) heading out of Rhyl, we will dismount and cross the road towards marine lake where we can cycle round the lake and then on to some residential raods and crossing the H bridge (we will dismount and walk if necessary) to join Lon Clwyd cycle path at the Glan Morfa Community Woodland, a local nature reserve alongside the River Clwyd. We then head south towards Rhudlan along the river, there are options to shorten or extend the route according to the group (approx 6mile or 12 mile options). On reaching Rhuddlan we can take a short road section before joining the cycle path and returning towards Rhyl, where there are some road sections on quiet roads before once again rejoining Lon Clwyd and returning via the outbound route

These are relaxed rides taking various routes around Rhyl and surrounding area. The first ride will be mostly on cycle paths, with only very brief road crossings which will be done on foot. I have had Covid-19 Awareness Training from the Welsh Sports Association and are responsible for following all the necessary Covid-19 protocols to keep us all safe - please read the Covid-19 Section below. Welsh Cycling (WC) have agreed protocols with the Welsh Government in order to comply with the latest Covid-19 guidance & legislation. WC have provided Ride Leaders with Covid specific training so this ride complies with the current regulations, we can keep everyone safe AND have a brilliant time!! There are a few Covid procedures we will need to follow on the ride:- Please make sure you have up-to-date contact information on the Let’s Ride system. YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER & BOOK TO JOIN A RIDE BEFORE ARRIVING Terms of booking a ride include, “When asked by NHS contact tracers, coaches, leaders and club volunteers are permitted to share details of participants where relevant to support the process.”- Please all keep 2m apart at the start & finish of the ride and during any stops we make- Avoid sharing equipment, tools, food, water bottles etc. Practice good hand hygiene and bring your own hand sanitiser or sanitising wipes if you normally use them Remember your mask in case you need to go inside somewhere, or we need to perform First Aid on you- Please don’t come on the ride if you are required to self-isolate Before booking & coming on this ride Can you please carry out a self-assessment for any Covid-19 symptoms: - a high temperature - a new, continuous cough - a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste If you have any of these symptoms or feel unwell please DO NOT come on the ride. The ride will start and end on Rhyl promendade at the kite surf cafe where refereshments can be bought, the cafe closes at 8pm.

Helmets are advisable and cash or card for refreshments. Suitable clothing for the weather. WHAT TO BRING: A drink for the ride. Clothes suitable for the weather. A helmet A mask. Hand sanitiser or sanitising wipes Repair kit and spares (a spare inner tube as a minimum) Make sure your bike is in good working order with the tyres pumped up before arriving on the ride. Any medication you may need to bring with you, ie inhalers.
