Join me to reconnoitre this ride that I am leading on the forthcoming Summer Bank Holiday Monday 26 August. The purpose of this ride is to assist me in memorising the route. Expect occasional stops to check/discuss the routing/risks.

This route to Hemel Hempstead and Gaddesden includes a Dodds Lane and Piper's Hill circuit.

We will proceed counter-clockwise on both loops of the route which has 2,099 feet of climbs with notable climbs on Dodds Lane at 14 miles 9%, Piper's Hill at 20 miles 10% and Felden Lane at 27 miles 12%. Pace should average 10 mph over the route.

We will pass Hemel Hempstead station at 10.5 miles and again at 27 miles.

At 22 miles there will be an optional refreshment stop in Frithsden at the Alford Arms.

eBikes are welcome.
