BR3 1NA

This is a flat route on mostly quiet roads and traffic free paths although there are a couple of busy junctions to negotiate. It is rated challenging due to its distance and the steady pace required.
We will follow the Waterlink Way to Deptford and then pick up the C10 as far as Millwall, where we will cut through to Surrey Quays, loop round Southwark Park and pick up the segregated C4 to reach Potters Field park from which there is a marvellous view of Tower Bridge and the City of London skyscrapers. If we time it right, we might see the bridge opening!
We will continue our ride by cutting through the hidden gem that is Gibbons Rent and cycling along Bermondsey street, before arriving at the Cornerstone statues. From this point it is a short ride to Maltby Street where we will have coffee, and possibly a delicious pastry at le Comptoir Gourmand.
(If Maltby Street is very busy, we may decide to continue on to Folkestone gardens for our coffee stop, which is a long way into the ride, so it is a good idea to bring a snack and a drink with you.)
We will maintain a steady pace in order to keep to the timings posted in the information.
We will make our way home via the C10 and Waterlink way back to Cator Park
Please call the leader, Jacqui Turner on 07456840924, if you have booked but there are problems on the day.
