Pete Welsh's Lumpy Canal Ride To Rivington (revised)

Starting from the car park behind Leyland Leisure centre we head out upto The Green man , and then up through Buckshaw Village and pick up the leeds liverpool canal to Adlington where we leave the canal and pick up Babylon Lane upto Rivington where we will have lunch at The Great barn . We take a slightly different route back to the canal and head back a slightly different route to Buckshaw Village before returning back to Leyland through Worden Park .

This is an excellent route combining roads , cycle paths , canal towpaths with a few lumps added in for good measure

the green man , stunning reservoir's , the great barn , a maypole in an area called maypole !

helmet , suitable clothing for the conditions , tubes to fit your bike , a pump , covid safety kit , and cash for food or in case of emergency .

we ride at an average pace around 9/11mph so nice and chilled ,hills will be approached at riders own pace and regroup at the top
