The exact route may vary slightly depending on weather and the state of the work on the new cycle paths in Cardiff. The idea is that it is a ride in from Penarth to see the new cycleways in Cardiff. The only sections of busier road will be in Penarth if you prefer to minimise these you can meet us in Penarth Marina - just get in touch for details of where to meet.

The aim is to cycle through Penarth, over the barrage, up Lloyd George Avenue - a slightly awkward bit through Cardiff centre to the Castle, then take the new cycle path past the castle, up North Road, back down the Taff trail - maybe crossing over to see the new paths in Sofia Garden, then back down the Taff trail and back to Cosmeston down the Railway Path in Penarth.

I don't plan to have a coffee stop, but if people are keen the best options will be back in Penarth Marina/Penarth so those who prefer not can head home at this stage. Do bring a snack though.

IMPORTANT:

To ensure that our rides are as safe as possible please note the following and take action where appropriate.

- Loss of, or change to, your normal sense of smell or taste (anosmia)

(2) When booking your place on the ride, please ensure that you have completed all the contact details. We will need these should anyone who is on the ride subsequently become aware of Covid-19 symptoms so that we can follow the guidelines in the ‘Trace, Test and Protect’ program.

(3) If you, or anyone in your household, develop Covid-19 symptoms after booking, please cancel your place on the ride.

(4) You will need to be self-sufficient on the ride i.e. please bring your own tubes, pump, tools, food and drink etc. as sharing raises the risk of spreading Covid-19

(7) If you experience symptoms after the ride, you should get a Covid-19 test. If this is positive, you need to contact the ride leader as quickly as possible to enable the Track, Trace and Protect procedure.

(8) If you are in the extremely vulnerable category or have been told to self-isolate Welsh Cycling recommends you do not participate in activities

(9) Limited places due to covid-19, so please cancel in good time if you find that you won't be able to make the ride.
