Starting point

Powys Radnorshire

Using quiet country lanes, we head towards Glasbury and after crossing the river Wye, we take the back road towards Boughrood. We then have a steady climb up to Fynnon Gynydd Common and continue uphill over the Begwyns, where hopefully, we will be rewarded with spectacular views.

After all the climbing, we will descend to Clyro and after crossing the main road, make our way back down to Hay on Wye.

Route rating

A circular, hilly route, using mainly quiet country lanes. This ride will be led at a relaxed, social pace, with no one being left behind. Ideal for cyclists with some experience and a reasonable level of bike fitness. All adult women are welcome.

Mainly quiet country lanes, with quite a few hills to climb.

Plenty of opportunity to stop on-route to catch your breath and have a drink and enjoy the views.

Please ride a well-maintained bicycle, wear a helmet, gloves and appropriate clothing for the weather and this should include a wind/waterproof jacket. Carry a drink, snacks, a spare tube, puncture repair kit, lock and pump if you have them and bring some money for refreshments. Please bring a set of lights for both the front and back of your bike. Remember, the higher we climb, the colder it will feel, so please make sure you dress appropriately.

We’re friendly, we love cycling, laughing, we don’t take things too seriously and we never leave anyone behind.
