Out and Proud by water!

A free community event in Partnership with Canal and River Trust, BYOU, The Water Adventure Centre, On Your Bike Project, and Wigan Pride. We also welcome Ironman Volunteers who were hoping to do the ride on the 11th July. We hope you will join in this celebration with opportunities to canoe, kayak, cycle and walk/run along the Leeds-Liverpool canal.

Join us to celebrate Inclusion and Diversity!

Starting at Trencherfield Mill, we will cycle the route below and hope to meet up with those who have walked, run, Kayaked, into Wigan to gather at Mayors Yard for fun filled gathering of community groups and local information.

A guide to the route is as follows but maybe subject to slight change.

Our journey starts at Trencherfield Mill, we cycle along the canal towards Leeds, climbing up along the Wigan flight of locks to Rabbit Rocks at Higher Ince. Our journey continues along the old railway line to Amberswood, then onto Low Hall, Kingdom Lodge and back to the canal at Dover Lock up to Plank Lane swing Bridge, where we turn around and head back to Wigan passing the local flashes that are part of the West Moorland Wetlands, home to various species of migrating and local birds.

We return to Mayors Yard opposite Trencherfield and enjoy a community gathering and hear of fellow travellers tales !
