How do I sign up?
This is easy, simply turn up at the start line for the stated time and find the rabble with bikes!? We are friendly so please don't be shy. Pop over and say hi and we can get you on the ride easily enough. Some people find it easier to contact us on Facebook or by text, especially if they get lost or held up, so please see the links at the top of this page. Contact us by mail or on the Facebook Page for a number to contact on the day once you are signed up for the ride/event.

What will we see?
West Park, Erewash Canal, Nutbrook Trail, Shipley Country Park, Langley Lock.

Where are we heading?
Starting at West Park, Long Eaton we join the Erewash Canal and follow up to the Nutbrook Trail Junction, where we cross the canal and ride onwards to Shipley Country Park via the Nutbrook Trail itself. We then drop off the trail at Heanor where we ride the roads until we get the crossroads at the top of Heanor Bank where there is an amazing downhill on the road to Langley Mill. From here we join the Erewash Trail again and cycle back to West Park.
This is mainly canal track with some forest trails and a few gravel & tarmac strips. There is a road section so not suitable for children.
A great day out especially in the sunshine so fingers crossed for the good weather.

Strenuous?
The journey is not too strenuous hill wise, but the distance on so much flat if it is a windy day can really take its toll on your legs and does cover some trails so wider wheels are better, recumbents will struggle with this route, and punctures will be common if racer wheels are attached to bikes so may slow down the ride if you're on track/road wheels. There are a few skinny paths here and there and the odd hill near the Heanor Area.

Rules of the ride.
A helmet MUST be worn, no helmet no ride. We travel with no mech or medic so self sufficiency is essential, bring waterproofs and whatever inner tubes and puncture kits, equipment etc you may need. We tend to travel with tyre levers and a pump, but just in case

Refreshments.
There is a café half way along the Nutbrook Trail, but apart from this there is no refreshments so please bring fluids and snacks if you need them.

Who do I contact if I am late, lost or just shy?
Give Kris a call or text upon arriving at the event start line. If you are contacting in advance then a text may be better as he sometimes rides to the event so may not have access to his phone while riding. Also any riders hanging around near the start line will be approached by Kris to be sure they are waiting for the event.
