North Leeds explorer with coffee stop at Butlers cafe - approx 14 miles

From Glen Road,in Far Headingley, we cross the main road (by foot if necessary) up into the Beckett park campus for a meander. We find a ginnel to take us down to Headingley station and down to Kirstall traffic lights where we cross over and find the entrance to the canal. Along the canal, with a part circular loop near Kirkstall forge, eventually coming off (over the footbridge over the railway line) , to our stop at butlers cafe. We will then head into Horsforth and up to west end lane and the rear of Trinity university, down Brownberrie lane to the Old ball,and then to Miller and carter then back to west park and back to Glen road.
we can vary the route depending on participants and hence capability and wishes e.g we might do the route in reverse.
This is a great route for those wishing to gain confidence on their bikes and for those who just want some fresh air and a bit of good exercise and fun company. Total time length depends on how long our coffee stop is

A varied route with short spells on a variety of surfaces/environments including quiet roads, the canal, the green Beckett park campus and slightly busier roads.

part will be traffic free e.g. Becketts park, the canal.

Butler's cafe at Kirkstall forge. it has a varied menu, cakes etc.
