Our rides are for the cyclist wanting more than a slower family ride, but not as fast as a "club run". Rides are about 30 miles long and at about 10-12 mph. Every ride has an optional a café/tea stop (the group decides on the day whether to stop or not).

We have graded the rides this year – green, blue, red and black. Green rides contain the fewest or lowest gradient hilly sections, and are a bit less than 30 miles. Blue rides are a little hilly but nothing prolonged. Red rides, have a few prolonged hills or are a long blue. Finally black rides contain prolonged and sometimes steep hills. Whether shallow or steep hills, if needed we do wait for people at the top of a hill and let them take a breather before moving on. Sometimes we just stop anyway for a breather or to admire the view.

Each week there will generally be some choice of graded rides. We’ll start the year with green and blue options. After a few rides we’ll probably drop green and have blue along with a red or black ride. However, we can add a green part way through year if these is a demand. I have also setup Spond which is popular with cyclists to coordinate and chat – the link will be publicised to those joining our group on letsride or those joining a ride.

Finally, if possible please bring a spare inner tube (particularly if you do not have 26" or 700 size wheels) and note that under 16s must be accompanied by an adult (and are their sole responsibility).

Happy cycling!

We welcome any cyclist - whether using an electric or only human powered bicycle. We even have people who ride on tandems and recumbents. There will usually be some choice of ride difficulty, but these rides are probably not suitable for a complete novice. If you are not sure please contact us directly.
