An opportunity to cycle one of Snowdonia’s iconic climbs. From Port Penrhyn we’ll take Lon Las Ogwen to Bethesda. We’ll then join the A5 up the Nant Ffrancon climb. A stop for photos by Llyn Ogwen, and then continue onto Capel Curig and meet our Conwy Breeze group in Siabod for an early lunch.

After lunch we’ll return via the same route to Ogwen Cottage and Bethesda. We’ll then turn off on the Tregarth Road to meet back up with Lon Las Ogwen and back down to Port Penrhyn.

The ride is cycle track and the A5 road. You should be comfortable cycling on the road with traffic. We’ve kept the group size small.

** Is this Ride for you?

Nant Ffrancon is a long climb but the gradient doesn't get too steep. We’ll break the climb down into 3 chunks and have designated pull ins were we can regroup and catch our breath. There is a fair bit of climbing on the ride (around 1800 feet of ascent). We’ll have an average speed for the ride of around 10mph. We will not be going super speedy up the climb, so bear that in mind if you are a fast hill climber and may find this too slow for you.
If you’re not sure please do get in touch.

All bikes welcome, including E Bikes.

Please book on the ride ahead of time.
