Starting point

London
W5 2TD

A steady ride exploring peaceful suburbs and tree-lined paths south of the River, and visiting the beautiful Chiswick House & Gardens for refreshments.

We will make our way from Ealing down to Kew Bridge, then onto the Thames Path to Mortlake. We have the possibility of visiting the distinctive, Arabic-style mausoleum of Sir Richard Burton in the churchyard in Mortlake http://www.stmarymags.org.uk/about/tomb-of-sir-richard-burton/ before taking the quiet roads and paths to Barnes Green with its picturesque duck pond . http://www.barnesvillage.com/barnes-landmarks/barnes-pond.html. We ride through Barnes, past the London Wetland Centre http://www.wwt.org.uk/wetland-centres/london/, and back onto a stretch of the river path which feels surprisingly rural. Turning back towards home, we cross the river again at Chiswick Bridge and head to Chiswick House & Gardens for refreshments http://chiswickhouseandgardens.org.uk/visit/cafe-shop/. From there, it’s a short ride home through Chiswick, Acton, and Ealing Common.
