Sunday 1st September 2019 7:30am

Starting from - Start is in Wythenshawe Park, M23 0AB. The whole area is well signposted and we usually park at the Manchester College which is a few minutes ride from the start.
Toilets are available at the start area. You may be allocated a start time which should be between 7 and 8 a.m. and I suggest we aim to leave at 7.30 but this can be negotiated. The start time you are given does not have to be adhered to. It is likely we will meet up in the car park beforehand.
It takes less than 45 minutes to drive from Chorley at that time in the morning (hopefully!)

P.S. the website address for registration is: https://www.bike-events.co.uk, M23 0AB

Starting point

Greater Manchester
M23 0AB

The route commences in Wythenshawe Park in Manchester and is a elongated circle southwards through Cheshire. There will be food stops approximately every 25 miles, the main one being usually at a school in Nantwich at about 50 miles, where cheap sandwiches and other items can be purchased and eaten. Water bottles can be refilled at all stops. The route is well marshalled and can be ridden without the aid of GPS.

A fully marshalled and signposted organised bike ride in aid of the Christie Hospital Charity. You will have to register as an individual rider with the organisers (Bike Events) to take part at a cost of £20 +£3 for car parking. This can be done online. Raising money for the Christie is OPTIONAL but I would urge making a donation as the entry fee is low for such an event.

Route selected to be as quiet as possible by the organisers

At least 3 refuelling and toilet stops available.

Helmets are compulsory for the under 16's according to the organisers. They suggest carrying "high viz accessories", a mobile phone, money, lights (though the ride is scheduled to finish before these are legally necessary), a water bottle, snacks, sunscreen and waterproofs. I would also suggest a cafe lock.

This is an ideal event to ride your first 100 miles, being well serviced and almost all flat riding.
