This is a leisurely ride from Kislingbury, out towards Salcey Forest and back. We’ll be aiming to average 11 mph. It’s got some hills (~1100ft ascent) – that’s why I’ve rated the ride ‘Steady’ rather than ‘Easygoing’. We’ll be stopping in Roade (mile 14.5), most likely at The Cock pub.

Any questions, please message me via LetsRide. See you there - Jennie.

Here are our tried and tested NSC ride etiquette. Hopefully these simple guidelines will help to keep our rides sociable, safe, and more enjoyable for everyone:

- The route, ride pace and resting/stopping times to be dictated by the ride leader, which will be determined by the pace of the slower riders (not the fastest riders)
- A back-marker should stay with the slowest rider(s) at the back (preferably a volunteer regular rider), who the leader can regularly 'touch base' with to help maintain the right pace .
- The rider(s) at the back should always be able to see the leader at the front (within 50m say), with the role of the ride leader being to monitor her pace so as to stay visible to the back-marker and to regularly check that the pace is not too fast/slow.
- Participants to always stay behind (or level with) the leader, unless clearly agreed/discussed with the leader (with the exception of uphill sections, as riders have different gearing and cadence preferences)
- If any riders do overtake the leader they must stop and wait at any junctions or at the top of hills to regroup. The ride leader should then give the slower riders sufficient time to rest/recover before setting off
- Anyone leaving the ride or deviating from the planned route should let the ride leader know directly or indirectly.
Before heading off, the ride leader will have a chat to the group about some of these guidelines and answer, and of course please let us know during the ride if the pace is too fast/slow, or you want to stop and rest
- We never leave anyone behind.
