Lollipop loop on quiet lanes

After leaving Macclesfield, this is a quiet loop through pretty country lanes where the terrain is rolling. It's essentially an out and back route, but a brilliant way to build up your route knowledge and get out into the country pretty quickly.

The first couple of miles will follow country lanes out past Sutton Hall, across the A523 and east over to Gawsworth, before taking the brilliantly named Maggotty Lane and crossing the Congleton road over towards Marton.

About 1km outside of Marton we will do a short loop, passing the Clonter Opera House, before retracing our tracks back through Marton.

The roads are generally very quiet but will require some singling out at times. The busy roads can also be crossed by dismounting and pushing bikes over. Lights recommended due to this being an evening ride.
