Covid-19 measures in place for the safety of us all:

* If you, or anyone in your household, or contacts have had any symptoms of Covid-19, ie new persistant cough, or fever or loss of taste or smell, in the last 14 days, or if you feel unwell in any other way, then please do not sign up. I will also need you to confirm to me at the ride start that you and your household are symptom free.

* If you are in the extremely vulnerable category or have been told to self-isolate Welsh Cycling recommends you do not participate in activities

* Please maintain social distancing of a minimum of 2 metres 'head to head' at all times from each other and from members of the public, where it is safe to do so, especially when stopping at junctions, crossings, hazards and when off the bikes.
* Please avoid touching others' bikes, or sharing anything, eg food, spares, money (ideally bring a card).
* Bring your own hand gel/wipes, drink and snack. NB come prepared to fix issues on your bike yourself if at all possible, ie pump, spare tube, tyre levers. Guidance will be available at a distance.
If you have any questions, please either 'message ride creator' through Lets Ride, or post it on the ride conversation tab.

This is a relatively short but hilly ride out through the Llanrumney area and though the lanes, climbing up Penylan Hill to drop down into Bassaleg. After crossing the River Ebbw, and the A467 via a footbridge (half a dozen steps up and down to negotiate), there is another climb up to the canal path and a short ride on to the Fourteen Locks Canal Centre. After a stop we will retrace our steps to Bassaleg and from there cycle a stretch on route 4 uphill through the lanes then via Michaelston y Fedw back to the start. We will stop at the top of the bigger hills for a quick breather!

We'll be riding mainly on quiet suburban roads and country lanes, with a short stretch on canal towpath.

We can have a stop at Fourteen Locks, approx 30 min, takeaway refreshments available from the cafe, or bring your own. Toilet available, voluntary donation to centre if not a customer. Alternatively we can stop on arrival back at LLanrumney Hall instead, depending on mood and weather!

Please bring a spare inner tube if you have one, and your cycle helmet.

We never leave anyone behind
