A local ride to celebrate British Cycling’s Let’s Ride ‘Summer of Cycling 2021’ campaign. A journey through Liverpool's finest parks, along the banks of the River Mersey to the Pier Head, and the iconic architecture of The Three Graces, the cruise terminal at Princes Landing stage and the Royal Albert Dock. The return journey will visit some of the landmarks made famous by The Beatles including the venue where it all started, their family homes, Strawberry Fields and Eleanor Rigby's grave. Something for everyone!

This ride is suitable for hybrid bikes (fitted with road and off-road tyres), mountain bikes and road bikes and is mostly on hard surface roads, cycle paths and park paths.

There will be a café stop at the Pier Head (and the Beatles Statue) where we will take a short break and from where we will start our return journey back to Court Hey Park. There are several places here where you will be able to buy hot and cold drinks, food and snacks (or get your ice cream fix!) (as well as en route at Albert Dock, Otterspool Promenade etc).

All riders will be required to wear a helmet and carry spare inner tubes and the means to be able to repair a puncture (assistance will be provided if required). You will also be required to carry hand sanitising gel, vinyl gloves and a mask (as per Covid guidance). We expect all our riders to adhere to all the current government guidelines with regard to social distancing and precautions needed during the current pandemic. If in any doubt, please ask and we will provide all relevant BC guidance.

It is essential that everybody enjoys the ride so it will be at a gentle pace (an approximate average of 10mph), but the pace will be determined by the overall pace of the group. There will be a few stops, particularly on the way back, to take in some of the Beatles ‘memorable’ places and attractions and plenty of photo opportunities. Always remember though, we will never leave anyone behind!
