NOTE - Route has been amended slightly as Severn Way Path closed (works) and The Lloyds closed (on going Police Investigation).
Starting from Telford Town Park Visitor Centre - following the Silkin Way down to Madeley before join A4169 to get us out of Town - onto quiet country lanes via Kemberton, Grindle, to Brockton where the route joins the B4379 for a short distance before turning onto quiet country lanes descending into the Gorge at Coalport. After crossing the River Severn over the Woodbridge the route takes a shared path back to Ironbridge re-crossing the River Severn over the famous Ironbridge. The route the follows the River almost back to Coalport before turning onto the Silkin Way back up into Telford Town Park.
This route has over 1000ft of climbing and is quite challenging.
Ride out from Telford Town Park via Kemberton, Grindle, Brockton the ndropping down into Ironbridge Gorge at Coalport crossing the Severn over the Woodbridge then up to Ironbridge re-crossing the Severn via the famous Ironbridge before re-tracing our steps back to the Town Park via the Silkin Way.
A mixture of shared path - Silkin Way, approx 1 mile of A road then minor roads and finishing off with the Silkin Way. Route suitable of all types of bikes - Silkin Way is sealed surface tarmac - shared path (west side of the Severn) mixture of sealed surface and hardcore (can be muddy.)
There are a couple of opportunities for a stop during the ride - mainly when we are in Ironbridge Gorge.
Riders are requested to wear helmets. They should also be equipped with a spare tube and associated tools to fix a puncture. It is recommended to carry a lightweight waterproof jacket in case of inclement weather.
First timers to Let's Ride are actively encouraged. Ride will be at the pace of the slowest rider. Main objective is everyone has a safe and fun ride.
