Starting point

East Sussex
BN1 4ZN

This is an intermediate Breeze ride, so you should already be a competent cyclist and confident riding in a group. Please find a shorter ride instead if you're still building up your cycling legs and bike handling skills.

Please check your bike before heading out:
Are the tyres fully inflated?
Do both brakes work?
Is the chain lightly oiled?

We head out of Brighton on the cycle paths up the Lewes Road and pass through the leafy back roads of the University of Sussex, passing the Amex Brighton & Hove Albion stadium. We then join the segregated cycle path alongside the A27 until we turn off for Lewes, pass Lewes Prison and down into the town.

After cycling through the pretty back streets of Lewes, we will head to Kingston and pause for refreshments at The Juggs pub with its large and pretty garden. We then set off again for a short sharp climb out of Kingston before re-tracing our steps on the A27 cycle path and into the city.

This is a predominantly flat ride, with just a few hills (through the University, down into Lewes, and out of Kingston).

If you find the outward journey too tiring, you have the option of catching the train back to Brighton from Lewes.
