This is the route you have all been waiting for, slightly longer than normal and a bit more challenging. We start from Dobbies car park on Benthams way. We will then travel out and take in the views at Clieve's Hill. Then we will ride up to and across the A59 along Long Lane swinging round towards Edge Hill college, then towards Skelmersdale but turning down towards Lathom and Ring o bells Lane, we then turn out towards Newburgh and then Parbold Village. We will then meander around Bispham Green before turning along Barmskin Lane, look out for the highland cattle, and then enjoy the views from Church Lane. We will then head through Heskin and Eccleston before taking a break at Croston and the Twin Lakes.
The return is very flat and scenic through Rufford, Burscough and finally to the finish at Dobbies.
We'll ride at a steady pace of 10 - 12 mph on this ride and we'll keep our pace at a level so that we can all stay together.
Remember, this is not a race, but a leisurely ride at a pace to suit the slowest in the group!
Please check your bike over the night before the ride, tyres inflated, all bolts tight, lubricated. Clothing, helmet & lights checked and ready. Please ensure you have a pump and a couple of spare tubes in case of punctures and a good secure lock.
It would be great to have some new & some familiar faces on this ride, you're all welcome & I look forward to riding with you.
Please be at the start point at least 15 mins before the ride start time,(9.45) ready to ride, so that we are able to get away at the stated start time of 10.05
