Setting off down the towpath towards Shipley, we will come off at Buck bridge and follow the trail, coming out at the Old Barn in Esholt (there is an alternative route if you don’t want to ride across the field)

Heading into Esholt we will cut up the path beside the Woolpack onto the road then trail through Esholt woods. Turning left at the end of the trail up Gill Lane then onto Warm Lane, across the roundabout onto Green Lane, up past the Fire Station, turning left onto Rufford Avenue, we will then cross to the other side of the Town Hall onto the High Street, turning right onto Silver Lane then Haw Lane coming out at the other side of the runway, heading down Cemetery Road and turning left onto Carlton Lane, then right onto Mall Lane coming out on Yorkgate and the Chevin.

Heading down York Gate we will turn left then a quick right onto Bramhope Old Lane and Old Lane across the A658, then turn right down Occupation Lane to pick up Moor Road and Cookridge Lane, turning left at Pinfold Lane and enter Golden Acre Park through the woods.

We will stop for coffee and cake, if the cafe is busy we can sit on the grass or head to the Bramhope Deli.

Leaving Golden Acre we will head along the A660 into Bramhope, turning left onto Breary Lane then Old Lane, this is a tight road so we will jump onto the gravel path that runs alongside.

Turning left onto Harrogate road for .3 of a mile we will turn right onto Otley Old road and then left onto Carlton Lane and follow it to Guiseley, we will ride along Oxford Road, heading through the lights and cutting through the estate and down Old Hollins Hill to Esholt and retrace our route back to Saltaire

A fabulous route, it encompasses towpath, road and trail with some cute animals on the way with a bit of climbing.

A mix of towpath, trail and road

Coffee and cake - Golden Acre cafe or Bramhope Deli

Pennies for a caffeine stop and sweet treat, spare inner tube, bike pump and levers, hand sanitizer, face mask, wipes

We never leave anyone behind
