From Straws Bridge we head to West Hallam and Stanley Village before joining the Northern Greenway (old railway line that used to connect with the Bennerley Viaduct). Following this track to the South of Breadsall we continue until we get to Darley Park and join the River Derwent. Through Derby, staying by the river, and into Alvaston Park. Back into the river and the next stop is Elvaston Castle, we then join the route of the derelict Derby Canal. After a short bit of road we get back onto the canal and join the Erewash Canal and Nutbrook Trail back to Straws Bridge.

A loop around Derby, taking in the wonderful cycle tracks and riverside paths looping around Derby.

Mostly bridle way, river path and canal towpaths. Some quiet roads.

We will be passing lots of places to stop and chat, lots of parks and shops/cafe's along the way.

Please bring a drink, and snacks if you don't want to use the cafe. As this is a longer ride than the usual Monday night Health Ride I would suggest bringing a drink and snacks with you, just in case you need a top up! A puncture repair kit/spare tube. Money for emergencies(hopefully not needed!) I recommend that you wear a helmet.

We never leave anyone behind
