This route is a relatively flat ride for County Durham, if there is such a thing! We will follow the river from Durham City up to High Shincliffe. Once there, that is the hard part over and then we are free to enjoy a leisurely ride along shared cycle paths and quiet roads to Bowburn, Byers Garth and Sherburn Village. We will return from Sherburn via Rennys Lane and follow the river back into Durham.
The route will mainly follow shared cycle paths, with some quiet roads
If time and daylight allows we might be able to have a socially distanced outside cuppa at a cafe in Durham when we have finished the ride.
As always we can’t predict the weather so please dress suitably. You are better to be overdressed as you can always take layers off. For any queries please contact [email protected].
