Haigh Heights

Starting at Trencherfield Mill ( Free car parking ) we will follow the Leeds / Liverpool canal and ride through the locks upto Haigh Hall Courtyard - The route is traffic free.

Welcome to Breeze Wigan Spring rides, we are an extremely friendly group and our regular riders are of mixed abilities, so everyone regardless of experience and ability is very welcome to join us. We especially welcome ladies who are taking their first pedals on their bike and want to gain confidence in a friendly supportive group. We dont ride a set speed we would rather ride to a pace where we can have a chat and get to know each other! We also welcome rider on E-bikes.

We will be riding along the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, on the towpath which is a mix of imprinted concrete and gravel paths, there are a few small inclines to ride on the way to our half way stop, as we ride through the locks, but please do not let this put you off.

We will be stopping at lovely Haigh Courtyard for a bite to eat / drink and there is always time for a breather along the way.

It is advisable that riders bring along a spare inner tube, just in case of a puncture; Make sure you have some warm clothes ( gloves / hats if the weather is cold )
