This will be a leisurely Green ride, out of Harpenden via Beesonend Lane and down to Redbournbury Mill (the bakery will be open so you are welcome to make purchases if you have the means to carry them on the rest of the ride, but it will be a relatively brief stop).
From there we will have a brief 200m stretch on the Redbourn Road, before heading up Punch Bowl Lane and and meandering in a loop back to Redbourn and coffee. From there it is a short ride home up Luton Lane.

This will be a leisurely Green ride with a few quirks!

We will mainly be on country lanes, but there is a section near Redbournbury Mill where we will need to walk our bikes on a rough path and lift them up a step onto the bridge, so make sure you are able to do this. It is very gravelly/pebbly in this area so road bikes not ideal, but you would be able to walk them through.

We will have a brief stop early in the ride at Redbournbury Mill, but our main coffee stop will be at Seed and Grain at Hertfordshire Garden Centre 14 miles into the ride.

Although legal covid restrictions are no longer in place, we would be grateful if you are mindful of the current infection rates and maintain distancing as appropriate. Please ensure your bike is in good working order, as whilst we will support you with any mechanical issues or punctures within the limit of our expertise, we are not trained mechanics. You will need to bring 2 spare inner tubes and any equipment you would need to change them (pump; tyre levers) and ensure that you have a contact number for someone (or taxi) who can pick you up if you have a mechanical problem that you are unable to deal with. We won’t abandon you and will make sure you can get home safely. Helmets are compulsory on this ride and we also ask that you carry a mask (you do not need to wear it whilst cycling but may need it for the coffee stop or if you require first aid assistance). Please also bring money/card for coffee and of course water. Apologies for this long list of rules, but it is really important to us to keep both riders and leaders safe and once the logistics are out of the way we can get on and enjoy the ride in the knowledge that we are doing it as safely as we possibly can!

First-timers welcome!
