Grangetown Cardiff Bay loop, Discovering the Bay - Canals, basins and wetlands

We'll access the Taff Trail from the Grange Pavilion then cyle down the Taff Trail to the Bute East Dock, Atlantic Wharf and trace part of the Dock Feeder Canal, before we ride around Roath Basin. It's on then to Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay Wetland Reserve and Hamadryad Park, returning via the Taff trail again to the start.

This ride is mainly traffic free, we will be cycling on a mixture of shared cycle paths, and quiet roads, some cobbled areas near the dock, and short stretch of paved canalside path, and a short section of gravel. We may need to dismount and walk as we pass though Mermaid Quay. Suitable for all cycles including nextbikes and electric cycles.

We'll have brief stops along the way for optional photos, and toilets are available in the Bay if needed.

Please bring a spare inner tube, cycle helmets are advised. Also some money/card if you want to buy refreshments

On return to the Grange Pavilion we can get refreshments from the cafe, or bring your own.
