This is a steady ride to the City of London and Aldgate, to visit a new development not well known to many – Goodmans Fields and its stunning horse sculptures. Despite the fact that we use mainly segregated cycling lanes and back roads on this route, there are a few busy sections in Aldgate, so you need to be confident on the road.
Back in the 16th century, this particular area was Roland Goodman’s farm used for the grazing of horses. Aldgate is certainly very different today, but Goodmans Fields Piazza gained a wonderful display, hidden behind the hustle and bustle of the City. We stay here to admire and for a coffee break at the Pastry Parlour.
The first half of the ride will be through Camden, King's Cross and the City. On our way back, we stop for a quick look around the Tower of London, making our way back via CS3, Hyde Park and Little Venice. We aim to be back at Roundwood Park at around 2.30pm.
If you find this ride fully booked, sign up to the waiting list as spaces always become available near the date.
