Our second post-lockdown ride taking in the roads and hills around Glassford. We will have two sections on busier roads, but these are short and quickly connect us to those lovely quiet country roads.

This ride takes us in a figure of 8 with Glassford itself being the point where the two loops meet! Our return to Strathaven will see us stopping at the wonderful Drawing Room for tea/coffee and cake.

Note the road surfaces on this route can be a bit patchy, with some loose surfaces and potholes.

What to bring: Hand Sanitiser, Face covering (not required for riding, for use when going into the cafe/shop), Money for cafe stop, and spare tube/puncture repair kit and pump. Helmets to be worn at all times when on the bike, please bring a jacket which is waterproof, you never know when the showers will make an appearance!

We have some extra advice and precautions we need to take due to COVID-19, so please read the COVID-19 section below carefully. We have fewer rider places than usual, please don't ask the ride leader to allow more places, as they can't do this.

COVID-19 - enjoying our rides safely and responsibly.

1. Clearly we need to ride in line with the Scottish Government's guidance on COVID-19 at all times. Please do not leave your home to undertake exercise or outdoor activity if Scottish Government advice means you should stay at home because you or someone you live with has or has had symptoms of COVID-19.

2. We are permitted to conduct group rides providing physical distancing of two metres is maintained at all times. To help this we are reducing the number of participants to four to meet the Scottish Government's guidelines of no more than five households meeting up (including the leader). If you have want to bring someone from your household that should be fine - but please message the leader in advance to let them know and to plan accordingly.

3. Please also make sure before taking part that your bike is mechanically sound and bring your own food and drink, inner tubes, gloves, face coverings and hand sanitiser to help assist with social distancing and preventing unnecessary contact.

4. Please practice good respiratory hygiene during the activity (i.e.coughing, sneezing into a tissue or the crook of an elbow)

5. Please ensure you complete your contact details in full so we can comply with Test and Trace requirements.
