We will leave the car park, stay on the path to join the Taff trail. Once you cross the A469, the path runs uninterrupted downhill for 2 1/2 miles to Taff's Well. Be aware of other public users as it is a shared path.

Entering Taff's Well and through Tongwynlais, however, there are several junctions and busy traffic circles that must be circumnavigated with caution as you weave around the A470. Use the dropped curbs and shared use pavements into Tongwynlais where you then must cycle with care down the High Street to Iron Bridge Road (approximately .5 mi.).

At the end of Iron Bridge Road bear right onto the narrow lane going past several private homes where you will then re-enter the traffic-free path. This path will lead you into a thick wooded area called "Longwood" which follows closely along side of the Taff River. The route soon opens up into Hailey Park and then finally into Bute Park. The ride ends on the western side of Bute Castle and Cowbridge Road.

The return trip is exactly as you came.
