So today I thought we’d hit a new area, some we’ve done before but theres a stretch that we haven’t so lets go and explore it.
We will start off at Trent lock and make our way to Castle Donnington but we do need to hit a major roundabout in order to get there, so we will have to cross the southern bypass roundabout but then take a left to Hemington before hitting Castle Donnington town centre. It can be a bit busy around here on a Saturday so please watch out for dangers around you and make sure new riders are comfortable. We will then head towards Isley Walton before hitting Melbourne, so this stretch of round from the main roundabout to Melbourne is a bit lumpy but we always wait for people at the top of any hill.
We will take a break here at Melbourne tea rooms for a well deserved coffee and cake before heading off.
From here we will make our way to Stanton by Bridge and take a left to avoid crossing the narrow bridge theres a bit of a hill here but theres a nice down hill too. We will make our way to Swarkestone, Weston and Aston on Trent but we will take a right here and head towards Shardlow before heading back to our starting point.
We love new riders to join us and they are always well looked after. Please make sure you are suitably dressed for the weather on the day, ensure you wear your helmet and make sure you have everything with you in case of punctures. Oh and money for the cafe stop, I do hope you enjoy this ride.
