A fairly easy but interesting route from Barton across the Humber Bridge, along the shoreline to North Ferriby for a coffee stop at Ferribys Coffee House then up to Swanland and back via Hessle all on mainly quiet roads. The route is all tarmac except for a couple of miles from the bridge along the Humber to North Ferriby which is part of the trans pennine route but unsurfaced. It is doable on a road bike, but a hybrid, gravel bike or mountain bike tyres are recommended.. There is one hill to speak of, up to Swanland, but we will wait and regroup at the top.
We would aim to average 9 - 11 mph but no- one will be left behind.
You may wish to bring a bike lock as we need to park on the grass verge opposite the coffee shop, although it feels fairly safe.
