Punctures can happen at any time and any place, but they needn’t be something to be afraid of.
This session will build your skills and your confidence so that you’ll be ready to take on any unplanned deflations when you’re out on a ride.
We’ll do this …by fixing several planned deflations while out on a ride!
You’ll master the basics of patching on an old inner tube before then getting to grips with taking the wheels off your bike and the tyres off your wheels.
We’ll talk about what to consider taking with you as part of your puncture repair kit and you’ll get a chance to experience some of the options to help you decide what is right for you.

The ride will be about 5 miles long on a variety of surfaces, mostly on low traffic roads or traffic-free paths - up to the prison via Williamson Park and then back down the Ridge side

We’ll be stopping at intervals for the next part of the teaching - ride a little, learner and little and repeat.
Nikki of Everyday Super Powers is a trained bike mechanic with 15 years experience.


A mixture of surfaces, mostly quiet or traffic-free

Bring your own refreshments - ie. drink and lunch to keep hydrated.

1. Helmet. 2. Suitable clothing. 3. Glue, patches, leavers, inner tube, pump. 4. Face mask, gloves and hand sanitiser. 5. Anything else you deem necessary.
